Privacy Policy for Scan QR from Image

Effective date: September 14, 2026
Last updated: September 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Scan QR from Image (“the App”) handles information when you use the App and its extensions.

Summary

Scan QR from Image is designed to operate locally on your device. The App does not collect, store, sell, share, or transmit your personal information to the developer or third parties.

The App does not use advertising, analytics, tracking technologies, user accounts, or external servers.

Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or contact information
  • Account or authentication information
  • Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
  • Location information
  • Usage or analytics data
  • Browsing history
  • Photos or camera recordings
  • Scanned or generated QR-code contents
  • Crash reports through third-party services
  • Payment or financial information

Camera Access

The App requests access to your device’s camera only when you choose to scan a QR code using the camera.

Camera images are processed locally and temporarily on your device. The App does not record, retain, upload, or transmit camera images or video.

You can revoke camera access at any time through your device’s privacy settings.

Photo Library Access

You may select an image from your photo library to scan it for QR codes. The system photo picker gives the App access only to the image you explicitly select.

Selected images are processed locally and are not uploaded, retained, or shared by the App.

When you choose Save to Photos, the App requests permission to add the generated QR-code image to your photo library. The App does not use this permission to inspect or collect other photos.

Action and Share Extensions

The App provides Action and Share extensions that allow you to scan an image supplied by another app.

The selected image and any detected QR-code contents are processed temporarily within the extension on your device. They are not transmitted to the developer, retained after the extension closes, or used for any unrelated purpose.

QR-Code Contents

Scanned and generated QR-code contents remain on your device. The App does not collect, store, analyze, or transmit this content.

You may choose to copy detected content to your device’s clipboard. Clipboard access occurs only after you select the Copy command.

Opening Web Links

If a QR code contains an HTTP or HTTPS address, you may choose to open it using Apple’s Safari services.

The App does not automatically open links and does not receive or retain your browsing activity. Websites you visit may independently collect information according to their own privacy policies and practices. The developer does not control and is not responsible for third-party websites.

The App reads QR-code contents but does not verify the safety, accuracy, legitimacy, or destination of links. Review links carefully before opening them.

Data Storage and Retention

The App does not maintain a user database or persist scanned images and QR-code contents.

Information being processed is held temporarily in device memory for the operation you request and is discarded when it is no longer needed or when the relevant App or extension session ends.

Images that you explicitly save to Photos and text that you explicitly copy to the clipboard remain under your control and are managed by your device’s operating system.

Data Sharing and Sale

The developer does not sell, rent, disclose, or share personal information because the App does not collect such information.

The App contains no advertising networks, data brokers, or third-party analytics SDKs.

Tracking

The App does not track users across apps or websites and does not use Apple’s Advertising Identifier. The App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not designed to collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no personal information is collected by the developer, the App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Parents or guardians should supervise children when they open links contained in QR codes, as those links may lead to third-party websites outside the App.

Security

The App minimizes privacy risk by processing images and QR codes locally and by not operating a developer-controlled server or database.

However, no software can be guaranteed to be completely free of defects or security risks. Users should exercise caution when opening unknown links or sharing QR-code contents.

Third-Party Services

The App uses system frameworks supplied by Apple for functions such as camera access, photo selection, QR-code detection, photo saving, sharing, clipboard access, and displaying web content.

Your use of Apple devices and services remains subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Websites or other apps accessed through user-selected actions are governed by their respective policies.

Your Choices

You can:

  • Deny or revoke camera permission in device settings
  • Choose which individual images to provide through the system photo picker
  • Decide whether to save generated QR codes to Photos
  • Decide whether to copy QR-code contents
  • Review a link before choosing to open it
  • Stop using or uninstall the App at any time

Because the developer does not collect or retain personal information, there is no developer-held personal-data record to access, correct, export, or delete.

International Use

All QR-code and image processing performed by the App occurs locally on your device. The developer does not transfer your personal information between countries.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the App’s features or data-handling practices change, or when required by applicable law or platform requirements.

Updates will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected in the App’s disclosures where appropriate.
